🚂 Week 6: The Freight Train Rolls On and The Cellar Battle Heats Up
Week 6 was a tale of extreme fortunes: the league’s last perfect team continued its flawless run, a former juggernaut secured a vital second straight win, and two managers began a desperate, unceremonious race to claim the title of “Worst in the League.”
The Apex Predator: The Gino Express
Gino (137.94) vs. Aswedler (86.62)
The Gino Express shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. With a decisive 137.94 to 86.62 victory, Gino moves to a pristine 6-0, the undisputed King of the Hill. His formula is simple: Ja’Marr Chase and Bijan Robinson are playing at an elite level, carrying him to the finish line with the consistency of a freight train on a smooth track.
For Aswedler, the season is a complete disaster. With a dismal 1−5 start, riddled with injuries and inconsistent performances, the question isn’t just “Why did he lose?”, but whether he even knew the race had began. The 86.62 is a humiliating low score for a team with playoff aspirations, officially plunging him into the darkest depths of the league standings.
The Race to the Bottom: Dan vs. Swedler
Sills (116.98) vs. Farmer Dan (91.44)
This was billed as Sills’s chance to solidify his position, but all eyes were on the grim battle for the basement. Farmer Dan is on a heater… a heat-related collapse heater! He is in a dead sprint with Aswedler for last place, falling to 1−5. The loss is particularly painful because he had a miraculous, out-of-nowhere 31-point effort from Cam Skattebo, but the rest of his roster was a barren wasteland that sealed his fate.
Sills, on the other hand, is moving in the right direction, now 4−2. He’s a blue-collar contender whose victory was driven by reliable workhorses like Josh Jacobs and the league-winning precision of Dicker the Kicker. A gritty win to keep the pace in the crowded middle tier.
The Former Juggernaut Finds His Footing
Bruno (79.08) vs. Josh (134.04)
The comeback is officially on! After a brutal 1−3 start, Josh has found his juggernaut form again, smashing his way to a second consecutive win with a dominant 134.04 performance. The speed and explosiveness of De’Von Achane and the breakout performance of Jaxon Smith-Njigba (JSN) carried him to a decisive victory. Josh is now a terrifying 3−3 and a threat to everyone.
For Bruno, the season spirals. He drops to 2−4, as his team continues to underwhelm. The lone bright spot was a long-awaited productive game from Brian Thomas, only for the rest of his team to, predictably, let him down.
Top Tier Turbulence
Bigbee (148.48) vs. Paolo (109.70)
After soaring to a 4−0 start, Paolo has hit a rough patch, dropping two straight to fall to 4−2. This was not the best effort from his squad. While Jonathan Taylor put the team on his back and did his part, the secondary scoring dried up.
Bigbee secured a massive win, also moving to a strong 4−2 and rocketing up the rankings. His victory was powered by a monster, league-winning combination from George Pickens and the resurgent tight end Trey McBride. Bigbee is proving to be a dangerous, high-ceiling team nobody wants to see in the playoffs.
The Unstoppable Force: Ramsell
Lucas (98.04) vs. Ramsell (143.66)
Ramsell seems practically unstoppable, dominating his way to 5−1 and keeping pace with Gino for the top spot. His roster is a fantasy dream: CMC doing CMC things (i.e., scoring a mountain of points), Ladd McConkey finding his way back to last year’s form, and even a massive performance from the surprising waiver gem Rico Dowdle doing his best Barry Sanders impersonation (never hurts!). Ramsell is a clinical, weekly winner.
Meanwhile, Lucas seems to be going in a downward spiral to 2−4. His team can only muster a single star performance each week. Despite Drake London’s monster effort, the rest of the lineup was an utter disappointment, and a sub-100 score is simply unacceptable in this high-powered league.
The “SHITout” of the Year
Adam (88.02) vs. Loonam (79.40)
In the most aesthetically unpleasing matchup of the year—the affectionately named “SHITout” of the week—Adam squeaks by with a win. The game’s low total is perfectly summed up by the fact that Adam’s highest scoring player was the Rams Defense. This ugly victory still pushes the quiet contender to an impressive 5−1.
The agony continues for Loonam’s SMYTDs. Falling to 1−5, this soul-crushing loss—following last week’s highest-score loss—proves the Fantasy Gods have abandoned him. He can’t even get lucky in a bad matchup. The team is officially facing an existential crisis.
